Tribute band has a surprise guest join them on stage, crowd goes wild.

A moment shared on stage between the two drummers, one from the tribute act and the other from the legendary indie band, Pulp.

Indie tribute group Pulp’d’s audience was left stunned on Tuesday night when they realised who was on the drums in their set. Tribute acts are certainly all the rage in the UK, and this year’s Fake Festival in Sheffield made history. The tribute act Pulp’d played all the hits and even lesser-known tracks in their discography for the die-hard fans. Little did they know that the drummer Nick Banks would join the tribute to play a version of ‘Disco 2000’.

The tribute band’s lead vocalist said on stage, “Can you quite believe this? This is something quite special, it definitely makes Fake Festival history. Because nobody in Fake Festival history has ever had a member of the band that they are tributing get on stage and play a song with them,” says NME.

Nick Banks has been the drummer for Pulp since 1986 and took to the stage for the second-to-last tune. Posting after the show, Pulp’d took to their socials and wrote, “Incredible night, joined on stage by @welovepulp legend @relanickbanks at Sheffield @fakefestivals. Thanks, Nick, for a special experience.”

The real Pulp are releasing their comeback album ‘More’ on June 6. They shared their single, ‘Spike Island’, in April, and that track will be available via vinyl from May 23. Their newest record in 24 years, to most fans, the wait for this record will seem like a lifetime.

Pulp are also due to head off on tour in the UK and on a North American tour to celebrate their new album release. Two shows will be at London’s O2 and will finish with two shows at LA’s Hollywood Bowl.
